What I can do for you My function is to
put clients seeking quality translations in touch with qualified translators
best suited to the particular work.
Languages I can currently arrange
for translations involving the following languages:
To request a quotation Requests for quotations should be e-mailed to frei@tinet.org together with the document to be translated (in .doc, .rtf, .wlp, or Mac format). Non-digitised documents can be sent by ordinary mail (simply e-mail me at frei@tinet.org or call me on either +34 93 439 76 21 or +34 658 20 33 32 and I will forward you my mailing address in Barcelona, Spain). Should you request the translation of a web site, I will require either the site's URL or the text(s) to be translated in Word format (or similar). The translated site will then be sent back to you in HTML format. According to the
languages involved, your request will be passed on to one or more translators,
who will contact you by e-mail, phone or fax within two days with a quotation
and, whenever necessary, any questions regarding your text.
Choice of translator. To help you to select the translator best suited to the work, the CV or web site of the selected translator or translation company will be forwarded to you so that you can examine quality, speciality and price criteria. Should you wish to be reassured of the quality of the translation you will receive, you can request a test translation (150 words maximum). For the most frequently
requested languages (English, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese,
Dutch), you will receive two to four quotations from two to four different
translators.
Contact with the translator. Once your choice is made, you are free to contact the translator directly to finalise details such as lead time, invoicing, terms of payment and advance payment. To avoid administrative problems, duplicated work, etc., you are asked to send on to me true copies of all subsequent correspondence with the chosen translator. The same procedure is applied to all work undertaken – request for quotation, contact, agreement with the translator. The price quoted by the translator applies to the accepted work only and is not guaranteed for any future collaboration. Prices are liable to fluctuate over time and according to the type and difficulty of the requested work. Provided you are entirely satisfied with the completed translation, the same translator will be given first refusal for any further work you request. If the work does
not meet your entire satisfaction, you should inform me by e-mail detailing
your complaint. The translator will be made aware of your complaint and
be excluded from any further proposals.
How can you contact me? Unless you request me to stop doing so, every five to six months I will send you e-mail updates of listed languages together with the vacation dates of translators and other news I feel may be of interest to you. As my site is regularly updated, I suggest that you bookmark my site address and visit it at regular intervals. You can also reach
me by e-mail at frei@tinet.org
or by phone on either +34 93 439 76 21 or +34 658 20 33 32.
